How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal
If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should avoid plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. The laser targets the roots of each hair, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking.
It is important that prior to your laser hair removal you shave 1 day before your anticipated treatment for the best results. Precision Laser recommends that most clients limit shaving in between sessions as much as possible so as not to stimulate hair regrowth.
IPL Hair reduction
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a broad-spectrum light which differs from Laser by offering multiple wavelengths as opposed to a single wavelength of light emission. This means IPL is capable of treating many different dermal ailments. Our Intense Pulsed Light technology uses a variety of crystal filters, which can isolate the wavelengths that are well suited to your treatment goals. In general Intense Pulsed Light technology offers a wavelength that super-heats melanin within the papilla of the hair root in order to destroy the hair follicle.

Typically Intense Pulsed Light for hair removal is most effective on clients with fair skin and dark hair. IPL targets dark pigment to eliminate hair and if the skin is dark and the hair is also dark, the light will have trouble differentiating its target.
